If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Never say anything bad about a man until you’ve walked a mile in his shoes. By then he’s a mile away, you’ve got his shoes, and you can say whatever you want to.

When you have something good to say, say it. When you have something ill to say, say something else.

You can say things which cannot be done. This is elementary. The trick is to keep attention focused on what is said and not on what can be done.

You can't say everything, so you don't say nothing.

If what you want to say is neither true, nor good or kind, nor useful or necessary, please don't say anything at all

If you can't be kind, at least be vague.

Never say anything about someone that you wouldn’t say to them directly and don’t try people without accusing them to their faces.

If you're not allowed to say something, I have a suspicion that not only should you be allowed to say it, but that it is simply true.
