As I see it, part of the art of being a hero is knowing when you don't need to be one anymore.

As I see it,part of the art of being a hero is knowing when you don't need to be one anymore,realizing that the game has changed and that the stakes are different and that there isn't necessarily a place for you in this strange new pantheon of extraordinary people.

You are the Hero of your own Story.

It’s your life. You should be the hero of it. If it’s any consolation, I’m the hero of mine, too.

Let the story do its work in you, and when it is done then you won’t need the story anymore.

We are the hero of our own story.

What if I'm not a superhero. What if I'm the bad guy?

Being a hero is a choice you can make, not a cape someone else will drape over you. You make your own cape.

You either walk into your story and own your truth, or you live outside of your story, hustling for your worthiness.

As you get older it is harder to have heroes, but it is sort of necessary.

When I was 15 years old, I had a very important person in my life come to me and say “who’s your hero?” And I said, “I don’t know, I gotta think about that. Give me a couple of weeks.” I come back two weeks later, this person comes up and says “who’s your hero?” I said, “I thought about it. You know who it is? It’s me in 10 years.” So I turned 25. Ten years later, that same person comes to me and says, “So, are you a hero?” And I was like, “not even close. No, no, no.” She said, “Why?” I said, “Because my hero’s me at 35.” So you see every day, every week, every month and every year of my life, my hero’s always 10 years away. I’m never gonna be my hero. I’m not gonna attain that. I know I’m not, and that’s just fine with me because that keeps me with somebody to keep on chasing.

At the end of their journey, a hero may stand in the same place where their story started, but nevertheless they have been irrevocably shifted, altered, displaced.
