Stop asking yourself what you want, what you desire, what interests you. Ask yourself instead: What has been given to me? Ask: What do I have to give back? Then give it.

Not being clear about what you want and making other people’s needs and desires more important than your own is simply a habit. You can break it by practicing the opposite habit.

Stop thinking, and end your problems.

Why talk about what we want? That is childish. Absurd. Of course, you are interested in what you want. You are eternally interested in it. But no one else is. The rest of us are just like you: we are interested in what we want.

Learn to define your definition of everything. Don’t make your life a wishlist of what you think everyone has.

Think continally about what you want, not about the things you fear.

Ignore what everyone else is doing.
Your life isn’t about everyone else; it’s about you.

I don't want whatever I want. Nobody does. Not really. What kind of fun would it be if I just got everything I ever wanted just like that, and it didn't mean anything? What then?

Keep your mind off the things you don't want by keeping it on the things you do want.

Stop thinking about what you’re going to say next and focus on what they’re saying right now.

Decide now that you will not spend your precious energy speculating about someone else's life and how it compares with yours.

Do you know what people really want? Everyone, I mean. Everybody in the world is thinking: I wish there was just one other person I could really talk to, who could really understand me, who'd be kind to me. That's what people really want, if they're telling the truth.

Take no thought of who is right or wrong or who is better than. Be not for or against.
