Being right does not always bring satisfaction,

Necessity, especially in politics, often occasions false hopes, false reasonings, and a system of measures correspondingly erroneous.

Love is not enough. It must be the foundation, the cornerstone- but not the complete structure. It is much too pliable, to yielding.

Intention, good or bad, is not enough.

Criticism is futile because it puts a person on the defensive and usually makes him strive to justify himself. Criticism is dangerous, because it wounds a person’s precious pride, hurts his sense of importance, and arouses resentment.

Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough.
I don’t know why.

Very few of the people who accentuate the futility of life remark the futility of themselves. Perhaps they think that in proclaiming the evil of living they somehow salvage their own worth from the ruin - but they don't, even you and I...

So you see how endlessly futile and fruitless it would be if we wanted to refute their objections every time they obstinately resolved not to think through what they say but merely to speak, just so long as they contradict our arguments in any way they can.

Yet falling in love is not the same as being able to love.

An urgent wish is no guarantor of a sound solution.

What is right is not always popular and what is popular is not always right.
