There is no real way to deal with everything we lose.

It is always difficult to console a sorrow that is unknown to one...

You can't ever tell what's going to hurt people.

There's no way to know what makes one thing happen and not another. What leads to what. What destroys what. What causes what to flourish or die or take another course.

You can never predict what little things in the way somebody looks or talks or acts will set off peculiar emotional reactions in other people.

Fear of the unknown will always be with you, no matter what you do. That’s comforting in a way: if there’s nothing you can do to change it, there’s no reason to let it stop you.

Sometimes there are no answers.

A warrior accepts that we can never know what will happen to us next. We can try to control the uncontrollable by looking for security and predictability, always hoping to be comfortable and safe. But the truth is that we can never avoid uncertainty. This not knowing is part of the adventure, and it’s also what makes us afraid.

A great deal of fear is a result of just “not knowing.” We do not know what is involved in a new situation. We do not know whether we can deal with it. The sooner we learn what it entails, the sooner we can dissolve our fear.

When all else fails, there's always delusion.

I will know that only those with inferior ability can always be at their best, and I am not inferior. There will be days when I must constantly struggle against forces which would tear me down. Those such as despair and sadness are simple to recognize but there are others which approach with a smile and the hand of friendship and they can also destroy me. Against them, too, I must never relinquish control —

It is never hopeless. But sometimes I cannot hope. I try always to hope but sometimes I cannot.

كلنا نتجاهلهم لأننا لا نستطيع تخيل حدوث ذلك. لكن صدقنّي، إن مجرد كون العقل البشري لا يستطيع تخيل حدوث شيء.. لا يعني أنّ ذلك لن يحدث !
