If the world were only pain and logic, who would want it?

If in this hell of a world one can bring a little joy and peace even for a day into the heart of a single person, that much alone is true; this I have learnt after suffering all my life; all else is mere moonshine. . . .

Life is pain

If you cling too much to logic you will never be able to be part of the living process that this existence is. Life is more than logic: life is paradox, life is mystery.

What pain do you want in your life?

pain, pleasure and death are no more than a process for existence. The revolutionary struggle in this process is a doorway open to intelligence

At our core, there is only light. I guarantee there is not one person you wouldn’t love if you knew their true story, their whole story, if you lived a day or a year or a lifetime in their shoes.

The real trouble with this world of ours is not that it is an unreasonable world, nor even that it is a reasonable one. The commonest kind of trouble is that it is nearly reasonable, but not quite. Life is not an illogicality; yet it is a trap for logicians. It looks just a little more mathematical and regular than it is; its exactitude is obvious, but its inexactitude is hidden; its wildness lies in wait.

Life and death appeared to me ideal bounds, which I should first break through, and pour a torrent of light into our dark world.

Pain and injury and illness ask us to consider that our lives are worthy without justification.

I just want the world to make sense now and then, is that so wrong?

This world is teetering
on a knife's edge.
Light and darkness.
Good and evil.
Battling for supremacy.
Every light bravely flickering
in the deep darkness
of inhumanity
shifts the balance
of the universe
toward good.
That light is you.

Love should bring joy, it should grant a person peace, but here and not, it was bringing only pain.

We would never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world.
