I have stirred all men to competition, I have rewarded merit wherever I found it, I have pushed back the boundaries of greatness.

Enough! Clear-souled and far from wasted,
I start upon an untrod way
To take my rest from yesterday.

The fool is happy that he knows no more

I never confused what I had with what I was.

And by these wonderful circumstances I was once more free again: and I kept my resolution then made, never to fall more into the hands of any recruiter, and henceforth and for ever to be a gentleman.

Now that I no longer desire all, I have it all without desire.
