Put things in perspective by going back before going forward

If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward.

Can we live in a way where we look forward to looking back?

Until we come clean about our recent history, there's no way to move forward and return to the representative democracy that our forefathers intended America to be.

If you're not failing, you're probably not really moving forward.

If you must look back, do so forgivingly. If you must look forward, do so prayerfully. However, the wisest thing you can do is be present in the present... gratefully.

Edmund Burke argued that people who have never looked backward to their ancestors will not be able to look forward and plan for the future. People who look backward to see the heroism and the struggle that came before see themselves as debtors who owe something, who have some obligation to pay it forward.

He who moves not forward, goes backward.
