Don't try to make me grow up before my time…

You don’t love someone to shape their future.
You don’t judge your friendships by how successful your friend becomes.
So don’t love and judge your children that way.
Don’t try to change them.
Just give them a great environment where they can thrive.
Give them the safety to experiment, make mistakes, and fail up.

I'd hate to have a kid like me.

People don’t really want to grow up, people don’t really want to change, people don’t really want to be happy. As someone so wisely said to me, “Don’t try to make them happy, you’ll only get in trouble. Don’t try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it irritates the pig.

Do not do unto others as you would that they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same.

Don't let someone create you, because they might just destroy you.

Never try to copy a successful personality.

Don't limit a child to your own learning, for she was born in another time.

Childhood has its own way of seeing, thinking, and feeling, and nothing is more foolish than to try to substitute ours for theirs.

Do not indoctrinate your children. Teach them how to think for themselves, how to evaluate evidence, and how to disagree with you.

Make it a rule never to give a child a book you wouldn't read yourself.

Instead of raising children who turn out okay despite their childhood, let’s raise children who turn out extraordinary because of their childhood.

Never tell a child that something it’s too hard

Though children can accept adults as adults, adults can never accept children as anything but adults too.
