You can be invincible, if you enter into no contest in which it is not in your power to conquer.

Who then is invincible? The one who cannot be upset by anything outside their reasoned choice.

If you make peace with all things that are beyond your power, refusing to fight them, you will be invincible.

Who, then, is the invincible human being? One who can be disconcerted by nothing that lies outside the sphere of choice.

Do you wish to be invincible? Then don’t enter into combat with what you have no real control over. Your happiness depends on three things, all of which are within your power: your will, your ideas concerning the events in which you are involved, and the use you make of your ideas.

Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid.
