I recognize that winning is not everything, but the effort to win is.

In my view, he alone wins who does not desire to win, and he who wants to win loses.If someone is desiring and striving to win in life, it means that deep down he is lacking something, that he is suffering from an inferiority complex. Deep down, such a person is aware of the inferiority he is trying to cover through winning. And if, on the other hand, someone is not out to win it means he is already established in his eminence, there is not even a shade of inferiority in him to disprove by resorting to winning.

Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

I wanted to win. No, that’s not right. I simply didn’t want to lose.

winning is not the point. Wanting to win is the point. Not giving up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you’ve done is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never letting anyone down is the point. Play to win. Sure. But lose like a champion. Because it’s not winning that counts. What counts is trying.

Winning isn’t everything, but losing isn’t anything.

It’s fun to win, sure, but if you only have fun when you win, you completely lose the joy of just playing a game, and being part of a team that works together. You’re not going to win every game you play, so if winning is the only way you have fun, you’re going to have a bad time pretty often.

I have found that winning isn't everything, and, in fact, in the relationships I most care about, it isn't anything.

"Winning" is taking the talent or potential you were born with, and have since developed, and using it fully toward a goal or purpose that makes you happy.

You do not want to win an argument. You want to win.

being a winner is much different from having the potential to win. Everyone has the potential; it’s what you do with that potential that really matters.
