What really matters is what you believe.

I want to question my belief, so that what is left after I have questioned it, will be even stronger.

Knowing it — knowing it's true is one thing, but believing what you know... well, there's the tough part.

The stronger your beliefs, the stronger your reasons
to question them regularly. Don’t simply believe everything
you think you believe.

If what you seek is Truth, there is one thing you must have above all else.” “I know. An overwhelming passion for it.” “No. An unremitting readiness to admit you may be wrong.

You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you. It is easy to say you believe a rope to be strong and sound as long as you are merely using it to cord a box. But suppose you had to hang by that rope over a precipice. Wouldn't you then first discover how much you really trusted it?

Ultimately, all things are known because you want to believe you know.

Nothing is more difficult than knowing what you really think.

You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you.

You can only find out what you actually believe (rather than what you think you believe) by watching how you act. You simply don’t know what you believe, before that. You are too complex to understand yourself.

Try, really try. Think, really think. Believe, really believe.

Examine, inquire.
Look into the nature of things.
Search out the grounds of your opinions,
the for and against.
Know why you believe, understand what you believe,
and possess a reason for the faith that is in you.

Some of the most important questions to ask yourself are: Who has the right answer, but I ignore because they’re inarticulate? And what do I believe is true but is actually just good marketing?

You have to believe. Otherwise, it will never happen.
