I do not believe in a fate that falls on men however they act; but I do believe in a fate that falls on them unless they act.
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart.

I DON’T BELIEVE IN DESTINY. WE ARE NOT BORN TO BECOME ONE THING OR ANOTHER, left to follow helplessly a course that was charted for us by some unseen hand, a mysterious alignment of the stars that pulls us in a certain direction, bestowing happiness on some and misfortune on others.

I don't believe that Nature's powers
Have tied her hands or pinioned ours,
By marking on the heavenly vault
Our fate without mistake or fault.
That fate depends on conjunctions
Of places, persons, times, and tracks,
And not on the functions
Of more or less of quacks.

Why so much grief for me? No man will hurl me down to Death, against my fate. And fate? No one alive has ever escaped it, neither brave man nor coward, I tell you - it’s born with us the day that we are born.

What is not brought to consciousness, comes to us as fate.

Whether or not you believe in Fate comes down to one thing: who do you blame when something goes wrong.

Can anyone alter fate? All of us combined... or one great figure... or someone strategically placed, who happens to be in the right spot. Chance. Accident. And our lives, our world, hanging on it.

We certainly do not forget you, so soon as you forget us. It is, perhaps, our fate rather than our merit. We cannot help ourselves.

Fate is that thing we cannot avoid. It comes for us despite how we try to run from it. Destiny, on the other hand, is the thing we must chase, what we must bring to fruition.

What we do not make conscious emerges later as fate.

That which we do not bring to consciousness appears in our lives as fate

The reward may be uncertain, but our doom is inevitable unless we try.

We are all subject to the fates. But we must all act as if we are not, or die of despair...death will sweep through all the worlds; it will be the triumph of despair, forever. The universes will all become nothing more than interlocking machines, blind and empty of thought, feeling, life...

If something's going to happen for you, it will, you can't make it happen. And it never does happen until you're past the point where you care whether it happens or not.
