If we are caught by the obstacle of knowledge, even if truth comes knocking at our door, we will refuse to let it in.

If at some point in your life you adopt an idea or a perception as the absolute truth, you close the door of your mind. This is the end of seeking the truth. And not only do you no longer seek the truth, but even if the truth comes in person and knocks on your door, you refuse to open it.
Attachment to views, attachment to ideas, attachment to perceptions are the biggest obstacle to the truth.

Most of us are so caught in righteousness, we’re afraid of truth.

I think we hold on tightest to the things that aren’t meant for us because at some level, we know they aren’t really ours. We’re always seeking the love we know we don’t have. We’re always trying to prove the things that are not entirely self-evident.

Maybe it's just that some of us have had certain facts and truths slapped up against our heads so hard and so often that we have to see them and pay our respects to their reality.

Perhaps the truth is not learned by us, but rather, the truth is re-called...re-membered...-re-cognized...as that which is already inside us.

The truth you believe in and cling to makes you unavailable to hear anything new.

When we believe something, we assume we are right about it to the point that we will destroy relationships in order to defend our position.

Beware of the truth, gentle Sister. Although much sought after, truth can be dangerous to the seeker. Myths and reassuring lies are much easier to find and believe. If you find a truth, even a temporary one, it can demand that you make painful changes. Conceal your truths within words. Natural ambiguity will protect you then.
