Be in the world, but not of the world.

What is in the world cannot save the world; if you really care to help the world, you must step out of it.

You should live in the world but remain untouched by it. You should remain in the world, but the world should not remain in you.

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.

I wonder if you can refuse to inherit the world.

Help the world to become better. Don't leave the world just the same as you have found it - make it a little better, make it a little more beautiful.

Give assistance, not advice, in a crisis.

If you really want to help this world, what you really will have to teach is how to live in it.

[Y]ou may live in the world as it is, but you can still work to create the world as it should be.

The trick is to help others without believing yourself to be, or acting like you are, their savior.

That world may be real for them, but it doesn't mean you have to live in it.

Be above it! Make the world serve your purpose, but do not serve it!

I don't want to live in the kind of world where we don't look out for each other. Not just the people that are close to us, but anybody who needs a helping hand. I cant change the way anybody else thinks, or what they choose to do, but I can do my bit.

Do some good in the world for no other reason than wanting to be part of the solution.
