We can say what we need to say. We can gently, but assertively, speak our mind. We do not need to be judgmental, tactless, blaming or cruel when we speak our truths

I was naive and thought we could express our feelings to each other- not suppress them and keep holding them back. Well, it was what I felt, and why should I be untrue to myself? I came to believe the importance that if you feel something strong enough then you should say it.

Say what you have to say, not what you ought. Any truth is better than make-believe.

The way in which we say something is often more important than what we say.

The weight of this sad time we must obey,
Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say.
The oldest hath borne most: we that are young

We often think we express negative emotions, not because we cannot help it, but because we <i>should</i> express them.

we must speak carefully so that we and our listeners do not get stuck in words or concepts. It is our duty to transcend words and concepts to be able to encounter reality.

Learn the words: I feel. Let others say those words and learn to listen — not fix — when they do.

Nothing haunts us like the things we don't say.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
