As I have often said, governments don’t produce economic growth, people do.

That's the difference between governments and individuals. Governments don't care, individuals do.

We must understand that governments cannot create real jobs. Only entrepreneurs can do that.

Rome sees some bloke from the London School of Economics on the telly while he’s flicking through the channels. This chap makes the point that governments don’t actually do anything for us. The only thing that makes them boss is that they control all the currency. Historically, anyone proposing an alternative to cash is brutally suppressed, but then historically they haven’t got the Internet, which makes such things much easier to set up; much harder to crack down on.

I wish politicians the world over would stop claiming credit for economic growth that happens despite them, not because of them. Grow up...

A National Government cannot create good times. It cannot make the rain to fall, the sun to shine, or the crops to grow, but it can, by pursuing a meddlesome policy, attempting to change economic conditions, and frightening the investment of capital, prevent a prosperity and a revival of business which might otherwise have taken place.

You can't be for big government, big taxes, and big bureaucracy and still be for wealth creation

Why do people look to the government to fix the economy? It's mind-boggling.

The fact that the market is not doing what we wish it would do is no reason to automatically assume that the government would do better.

Governments never learn. Only people learn.

Even the most well-meaning
government policies have unintended consequences that have harmed
the economy. If government policies were today held accountable the way
private businesses are, the scoreboard would say government is failing
to help people...and this is a fact.
